The Physical Education program at Allen-Stevenson develops the whole child, building health, well-being, and the essential skills that underpin our Athletics program. Through creative movement, modified games, and a sports education framework, our talented PE team equips boys with the abilities and habits that support success in athletics and in life. We aim to inspire a lifelong passion for health and physical activity.
We believe in “making the big time where you are,” providing excellent coaching, thoughtful scheduling, and strong facilities at every grade level. Our athletes benefit from this commitment, and the results are evident as they continue to thrive in high school, college, and beyond.
Physical Education
Our program develops the whole child, nurturing motor and cognitive skills while shaping the social qualities that define strong character. Respect, responsibility, collaboration, communication, listening, teamwork, and sportsmanship are not just taught, they are lived in every activity.
Experiences are carefully scaffolded, beginning with individual and partner challenges that build confidence, then progressing to group activities that inspire cooperation, problem-solving, and resilience. Each grade level equips boys with the skills and mindset to embrace challenge, grow with purpose, and thrive in our Athletics program.

Our program embraces the differences in each child and thus strives to expose them to a variety of athletic activities.

Athletics
Allen-Stevenson’s Athletics program, with a proud tradition of 42 League Championships, welcomes every boy to participate. Our junior varsity program has no cuts, while varsity offers competitive opportunities for advanced athletes. Eight interscholastic sports, cross country, soccer, flag football, basketball, wrestling, track, lacrosse, and baseball, ensure a wide range of options.
Athletics at A-S teach more than physical skills. They instill sportsmanship, teamwork, resilience, and the ability to win and lose gracefully. Participation supports healthy bodies, strong self-concepts, and school pride, shaping boys both on and off the field.
