The Allen-Stevenson School seeks an admissions and enrollment professional who will utilize a data-informed and mission-aligned strategic enrollment approach to guide the school in all aspects of its enrollment and retention efforts. Our next Associate Director of Admissions will build upon a history of strong partnerships with early childhood settings in New York City and beyond and provide logistical, organizational, and strategic support to the Enrollment Management Office.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Support the Director in developing and implementing a forward-thinking, strategic Admissions and Enrollment Management program that allows the school to successfully fulfill the mission and meet targeted enrollment goals
- Ensure the clear communication of the school’s mission, strategic goals, philosophy and culture to all prospective parents and students
- Support the positioning and strategic marketing of the school and its programs and help to develop representative marketing materials that capture the A-S program for outreach to a diverse applicant pool
- Work with the Director of Admissions and Director of Communications to develop digital and print communications for the purpose of attracting and retaining mission-appropriate families
- In collaboration with the Director of Admissions, create, organize, and execute admissions events, including (but not limited to) open houses, applicant parent coffees, new family welcome events, etc.
- Cultivate a strong partnership with the School’s faculty, staff, administration and trustees
- Support school outreach to community-based organizations that support a diverse applicant pool (for example, Prep for Prep, Early Steps, Oliver Scholars, ACES, etc)
- Stay current with the best practices for communication and policy during the Admissions process (ISAAGNY guidelines)
Key Job Duties
- Organize candidate visit days (notification of student buddies, outreach to applicant’s parents, communication with the faculty/staff)
- Conduct parent interviews
- Represent the school locally and nationally at professional meetings and conferences, including participating in regional associations to stay current with trends and best practices
- Coordinate and recruit diverse parent volunteers (Tour Guides, PA Welcome Committee)
- Routinely cultivate relationships with administrators at local pre-schools, elementary, and middle schools and apprise them of the school’s program enhancements
- Work with the Director of Admissions to evaluate, reflect on, and update Admissions process as needed
- Work with the Director of Admissions to maintain/evaluate Admissions statistics (per Board Report Data)
- Participate in school-wide events and meetings
- Accept and perform other duties as assigned
Skills and Qualifications
- Prior experience in admissions as well as classroom teaching experience highly preferred
- Demonstrate a passion for and alignment with Allen-Stevenson as well as a keen ability to convey the school’s program, opportunities and vision to an array of constituencies, both verbally and in writing
- Possess an understanding of Allen-Stevenson’s TK-8th grade level curriculum across disciplines and the school’s education philosophy
- Exhibit a cooperative team approach, complete with a good sense of humor and demonstration of a united front
- Display initiative, internal motivation and a willingness to take on responsibilities beyond those explicitly defined
- Execute responsibilities efficiently and adhere to deadlines
- Possess expertise in Admissions and retention strategies, including the development of communications and events that help convey the value of an Allen-Stevenson education
- Exhibit sound judgment related to confidential conversations, projects, and information related to the School or any of its constituents
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, presentation software, and communication technologies, including social media, the ability to conduct effective online research and knowledge of database management (Ravenna, Veracross)
- Availability on nights and weekends is required at specific intervals throughout the admissions season
This is a full-time, 12-month position with competitive salary and benefits. This role is not eligible for remote work and the candidate is expected to be on-site during the academic year with flexible work options available in the summer months. Innovation Coach and Technology Integrator (Grades 5-8)
The Allen-Stevenson School, in New York City, seeks a visionary and dynamic Upper Division teacher beginning in August 2025. The ideal applicant is passionate about empowering students to become confident, creative, and responsible users of technology to solve problems. The successful candidate will design and deliver a technology program grounded in the ISTE Standards and Transformational Learning Principles, emphasizing learner-driven exploration, deep understanding, and real-world application.
This full-time position is eligible for a complete benefits package. Compensation: $85,000-$95,000 commensurate with education and experience. Reports to: Director of Library Services and Educational Technology. Master’s Degree preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement a future-ready technology curriculum for grades 5-8 technology classes that cultivates digital literacy, computational thinking, and ethical innovation.
- Teach an innovation elective to grades 7-8 and core digital competencies for classroom participation to grades 5-6 during their Skills block.
- Collaborate with the Lower Division Innovative Technology Integrator to ensure a cohesive and developmentally appropriate TK–8 technology scope and sequence.
- Facilitate project-based learning in our makerspace using tools such as 3D printers, LEGO robotics, Arduino, Makey-Makey, and other hands-on materials.
- Guide students through all phases of the design thinking process, from ideation and research to prototyping, iteration, documentation, and communication.
- Inspire self-directed learning by helping students build the confidence and skills to teach themselves new tools, technologies, and creative strategies.
- Infuse teaching with principles of diversity, equity, inclusion, belonging, and sustainability, highlighting how technology intersects with justice and environmental impact.
- Integrate age-appropriate AI tools and concepts to cultivate students’ AI literacy and ethical awareness in a rapidly evolving digital world.
- Collaborate with Upper Division faculty across disciplines to support interdisciplinary projects and real-world problem-solving.
- Design and deliver engaging professional development opportunities for faculty on the effective use of educational technology.
- Communicate with parents and community members through presentations and showcases that highlight student learning, growth, and innovation.
- Staff the circulation desk occasionally as needed

At Allen-Stevenson, boys have the opportunity to learn to play instruments from the string, woodwind, brass, and percussion families in a one-on-one setting with professional performing musicians. These instructors work with students towards studio recitals, instrumental assemblies, and orchestral performances. Currently at Allen-Stevenson, an estimated 180 boys are taking instrumental lessons during the school week and an estimated 100 boys play in ensembles and/or orchestra.
