Students may access all class-related information via our Canvas LMS. The Learning Management System provides access to homework assignments, digital resources, class and personal schedules, as well as a variety of other helpful tools.
As part of our new Canvas LMS, we will be using the class-based and personal calendar feature more extensively. Please note: for all non-class related information, parents should access the Allen-Stevenson calendar available through the new website.
Each student in grades 5-9 has access to a personal calendar through Canvas that is automatically populated with class and homework assignments. Students have access to add events to their personal calendar to support student planning.
The Allen-Stevenson School uses Microsoft Outlook as our email application. Students in grades 4 - 9 are provided a personal email address. The Canvas LMS is linked to each student's email address and announcements, etc. will be forwarded to each student's email application. Boys should develop a habit of checking their email at least once per day during the school year.
The School has selected Google Apps for Education and its suite of product as the best suite of productivity tools for classroom collaboration. Apps for Education is free, secure, available on any device – at school or at home, and allows for real-time collaboration between and among teachers and students. Students will be provided an account linked to Allen-Stevenson, which will include Google Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides and Sites.
