Group Bonding Activities Create Classroom Environment That Encourages Boys to Share Ideas and Participate in Class

Getting to know classmates at the beginning of school is so important in building community and fostering social emotional learning. 
Bonding activities create a productive work environment in the classroom because boys feel more comfortable sharing ideas and participating in the class. Second Grade Teacher Alice Heminway came up with a fun way for her boys to get to know one another – by creating personal bags containing items that let their personalities shine and applaud their unique interests. Boys included items ranging from flags representing their heritage to musical instruments to math workbooks.
