Tech Tuesday: Parents Experience the Virtual Library Tech Commons

On Tuesday, October 1, Allen-Stevenson parents took time out of their mornings to tour our new Library Tech Commons website ( during our first Tech Tuesday of the academic year.
The Library Tech Commons at Allen-Stevenson is a learning commons that integrates a traditional library, maker space and various forms of technology to empower boys as learners. Our collaborative culture of inquiry encourages boys to develop their natural curiosity as they co-design their own learning.
During this session, parents were given a tutorial of the website, learned how to use QR codes to create website logins, and engaged in a fun hands-on website scavenger hunt. Two years in the making, our team has put a lot of thought into designing a website that is full of resources and helpful information, organized by constituent – boys, faculty and staff, and parents – and we are so excited to be able to share it with our community and many others who we hope will find it useful!

Allen-Stevenson’s distinctive “enlightened traditional” approach educates boys to become scholars and gentlemen.
