The annual Book Fair and Arts Festival took place from May 21 to 23 this year.
An impressive array of books was displayed in our Assembly Hall during this year’s Book Fair! There were choices for all ages, set out by genre and division, making it easy to find whatever reading material takes one’s fancy. Not sure what to read? Not sure what books were assigned for your or your son’s summer reading? Members of the Library team were on hand to answer questions and assist in selections.
With tote bags for buyers to carry away their purchases, every little detail was considered in the planning of this wonderful event.
Sarah Kresberg, Library Director, said, “the timing of the Book Fair is perfect – the boys are able to pick out books to read over the summer and also get really excited about reading because there is always such a great buzz about books both leading up to the Book Fair and during the fair itself.”
A huge thank you to the Book Fair Committee members, the multitude of parent volunteers and A-S faculty and staff who helped with set up and clean up, and the many who donated books to the library.
And remember: the boys can borrow ebooks and digital audio books all summer long from the library via Sora!
The Arts Festival is Allen-Stevenson’s own art gallery exhibition, which once again this year provided a feast for all who were fortunate to visit. On display was a sampling of some of the many works of art the boys made during the school year in art class and woodshop. The boys took the time to point out and explain their pieces to their parents, and art teachers were on hand to answer any questions about the making of these unique works of art.
Many thanks to the art teachers and the Arts Festival Committee for putting together such a beautiful display of artwork.
