“Havana Nights” Spring Benefit

Over 300 parents, faculty, staff and guests gathered for a ‘night in Havana’ at the Allen-Stevenson Spring Benefit on Wednesday, May 1, in support of the Francis Bellows Allen Scholarship Fund, which helps to provide scholarship support for our boys.
Attendees arrived decked out in “Havana Chic” evening attire for a fantastic night at Guastavino’s, which was fabulously decorated to transport guests to sunny Cuba. As people arrived, their photos were taken in front of a custom Fedora Wall and Flower Glam Bar before being ushered into the main venue where they enjoyed an elaborate dinner buffet and tried out their salsa, cha-cha and merengue moves to the music of Tito Puente Jr. and his Orchestra.

Off the dance floor, guests relaxed in draped cabanas or visited the Hemingway Lounge to hit the casino tables and learn the art of making authentic hand-rolled cigars, all while surrounded by lush greens, textures and flora reminiscent of Old Havana.

The evening also featured a Silent Auction, with an impressive selection of items, and a farewell churro truck offering savory empanadas and freshly made hot churros by Cuban born chef, Eddie Garcia.

Sincere thanks to Parents Association President Liz Steinberg; Vice President Audrey Rasch; our dedicated Co-Chairs Jennifer Ceccarini, Kerry-Ann Evans-Thompson and Priya Pandit; our Silent Auction Co-Chairs Erika Greff, Amy Peck and Alexandra Wilkis Wilson; and Graphic Designer Mase DeMarco for their hard work putting together such an entertaining and community building evening.

Thank you also to our wonderful benefactors, silent auction donors, and everyone who helped to support this event and the scholarship fund. Thank you also to the numerous other volunteers who lent a helping hand and especially the Peck Family for their creativity in designing and building the hat and flower glam walls.
