Heidi Garson - French Horn

Heidi Garson joined the Allen-Stevenson music faculty as French horn instructor in September 1991. She has degrees in music performance from the Manhattan School of Music and SUNY at Stony Brook. She has a very active teaching studio. In addition to teaching horn at A-S, she is the horn instructor at Riverdale Country School, the prestigious public school, Special Music School, and the Lucy Moses School of Music. Heidi freelances in the metropolitan area and has performed with many groups, including the New Jersey Symphony, Stamford Symphony, Brooklyn Philharmonic, Northeastern Pennsylvania Philharmonic, New York Gilbert and Sullivan Players, Ballet Hispanico, Connecticut Grand Opera, the pit orchestra of the Broadway show: Les Miserables. Further from home, she has performed with Virginia Opera, Sarasota Opera, the L’Orchestra Sinfonica de Colombia, Opera Lirico Experimentale in Spoletto and toured in Europe with Evita.  She can be heard on several recordings including the following labels: Albany, Opus One and North/South.
