Get Involved

As an Allen-Stevenson alumnus, there are many ways to be involved. Whether you live in New York City or across the globe, you can support A-S by volunteering your time and support to enhance and strengthen our alumni network. Your involvement fuels Allen-Stevenson's future while honoring its esteemed history.

Allen-Stevenson Alumni Council (ASAC)

Being a member-at-large on the ASAC is a great way to share your ideas, interests and concerns as an alumnus, while supporting the efforts of the Development Office in planning and implementing a variety of networking and special events. The ASAC meets three times per year. Click here to view the current ASAC roster.

Reunion Planning

Each year, a committee of alumni helps plan all aspects of Reunion.
Interested in getting involved this upcoming year? Please email Jennifer Ziplow or call 212-933-5240.

Regional Gatherings

Volunteer to host or help plan an alumni gathering in your city. Rekindle old friendships and start new ones by connecting with fellow A-S alumni in your area. The Development Office is on hand to help plan your event.

Alumni Spotlight Series

Write an article for the Blue & Gold alumni e-newsletter or the Lamplighter magazine that showcases your talents and experiences, or provides an interesting perspective on a topic that would be of interest to A-S alumni.

Serve as an Event Chair

Alumni Event Chairs organize and host specific alumni events. This is a great opportunity to bring new and different event ideas to A-S alumni. Responsibilities include planning, communicating and executing the event, with the support of the Development Office.

Alumni Annual Fund

Each year, the Annual Fund provides 10% of the School’s operating budget. Alumni support at all levels is vital to the Annual Fund’s success. The Chair of the Alumni Annual Fund, with the support of a committee, strive to increase alumni participation in the Annual Fund each year.
Alumni Annual Fund Agents contact their classmates and ask them to support the School, build community by rallying their classmates in support of specific projects or events, and spearhead challenges to encourage younger classes to reach their participation goals.

Support Current Students

As an alumnus, the opportunity to interact with current students can be exceptionally meaningful. By serving as a mentor to the boys, or appearing as a guest speaker in classes or at assemblies, you can impart valuable life lessons to the boys. Here are a few current opportunities for alumni to mentor current students:
  • BOCAS (Boys of Color at Allen-Stevenson) gives students of color and opportunity to explore, with each other, experiences related to being a student of color at A-S.
  • Friday Morning Meetings are held bi-weekly, and feature a variety of topics and performances.
