The Allen-Stevenson School Remote Learning Plan
Bridging learning between school and home or ultimately the world, has always been the focus at Allen-Stevenson. Now more than ever, while we are physically apart, we recognize the importance of continuing to inspire in our boys a love of learning, a willingness and drive to give their best effort, a comfortable space in which to take risks and ask questions, as well as an awareness of and commitment to the human spirit.
Our curriculum will continue to have a balance of skills and content, incorporating academics, the arts and physical education, but through new forms and approaches. We will endeavor to keep a strong connection between boys and teachers. Ensuring homeroom and advisory connections, online PE classes, music lessons, chorus rehearsals, and times for teachers and students to interact are all in our thinking and planning. We are mindful that learning can be done in many creative ways, which we believe includes a balance of on and off-screen opportunities.
There is no doubt that our boys’ lives have been turned upside down. There is so much they are looking forward to as the spring term approaches. So, as we move through this time, we want to listen, guide, cajole and care for each of our boys. They are very important to us and we intend to stay connected and support them as they progress both strongly and rightly.
This summer extend your child’s learning through a rich variety of classes offered during Allen-Stevenson’s virtual summer program. Your child can explore academics, athletics, the arts and more under the guidance of our visionary teachers.
